  • How do I calibrate and how often do I need to do it?

Calibration should be the very first thing you do before flying. We recommend as a good rule of thumb that you recalibrate as often as possible. Especially after a drop or crash. If you notice the controls not responding as normal or if there is a drift by the drone a recalibration should be performed.

Below are the steps needed to calibrate:
    1) Turn off all power to both the drone and the controller.
    2) Place the drone on an absolute level and flat surface.
    4) Power on the controller.
    5) Power on the and then the drone.
    6) Move the controller's left joy stick UP then DOWN. The Controller will make a audible noise to confirm it is now bound.
    7) Immediately move the controller's RIGHT joystick to the BOTTOM RIGHT position. The LED on the front of the drone will flash.
  • Does this drone have a return home button?

No. However, it is equipped with an Auto Land feature in the case of an emergency. This one button feature will self land the drone in the event that you lose control or become disorientated.
  • Do I need to use my phone to record video?

Yes, you will need to first insert a microSD card into the drone. Using your smart phone, you will need to press the record button to start recording. You MUST also stop recording prior to disconnecting the battery.
  • I noticed there are what look like 2 batteries that are linked together. Does the drone automatically switch to the second battery once the first battery drains?

It is only one battery. What you are referring to are the cells of the battery. Each cell is wired together in a series circuit. This means they work together and drain equally at the same rate. They are NOT to be separated.
  • What is the max control distance?

The max control range for this drone is 150m unobstructed. When you are reaching the max distance the controller will single an audible alarm to notify you are reaching the max range. NEVER exceed the max control range.
  • Does this model have altitude hold?

This drone is equipped with Altitude Mode which means using the onboard barometer, the drone will read changes in the atmospheric pressure and attempt to keep the drone hovering in place.
  • If your not connected to the WiFi, will you still be able to see in first person video?

No, you will need a WiFi enabled device to see the video stream. You do not need an existing WiFi network. The Delta Recon creates it’s own network that you can connect regardless of location.
  • Is there a way to track where the drone landed?

No. Unfortunately, this drone is not equipped with GPS or another tracking system. For this reason, we recommend you keep a line of sight of your drone at all times.
  • Does this drone need a rest period?

The type of motor used in this model is called a “brushed motor” they have no way of cooling themselves, other then time. It is recommended with all brushed motors you perform a rest/cool down period.
  • After a crash what do I need to do?

First thing that should be done after a crash is a visual inspection of the drone. Look for any damage and perform any repairs. If nothing seems to be damaged, you should ALWAYS perform and recalibrate to ensure a safe flight.
  • How good is the camera?

The onboard camera is a 720P 30/fps. It is comparable to a hand held smart phone. That said, the intention of this drone is not for profession video production.
  • I want to buy 2 is there a problem fling them at the same time?

No, the controllers will auto-bind to each drone separately on different channels not to interfere with each drones individual controls. However, we recommend first connecting to one then the other so you have control over which drone is bound to what controller.
  • Does is it have lights to fly at night?

Yes, there are LED lights under each motor, that allow you visual orientation for night-time flight. However, first time flyers are not recommended to fly at night.
  • One of the motors stopped working and was hot. Suggestions?

Check that any debris such as dirt or hair is obstructing the motor from spinning. If that does not seem to be the problem, you may need to replace the motor. The life span of the motors will very depending on the aggressiveness of flight and frequency of use.
  • Can even a novice be able to effectively fly this drone with minimum crashes?

The Delta-Recon was designed as a beginner trainer drone. This drone is ready to fly out of the box. However, please read all documentation before flying, and refer to our fly safe page.
  • Does this work with all older Samsung versions including S3 and S4?

Yes, it is compatible with Android 4.1.2 or later.
  • Can it be a carry-on item on the plane or I have to check it in with luggage?

Since regulations are always changing, we recommend for you check with your airline.
  • How much does it weigh?

The Delta Recon weighs 131.9 grams.
